Club Of The Month
North Berwick
Scotland is renowned for its links courses and North Berwick is one of the Home of Golf’s finest. The West Links runs alongside the Firth of Forth and, founded in 1832, is claimed to be the thirteenth oldest in the world. What makes North Berwick an experience to be remembered is the variety of its amazing holes. The 13th where the approach has to be played over an old wall with the green tucked in behind it; ‘Redan’, the short 15th, with a sloping green that has been copied all over the world and the 16th whose green is dissected by a valley and can be four-putt territory to name a few. The welcome matches the quality of the course, and playing here is not expensive, costing as little as £30 in winter and £75 in summer. To book a tee time at North Berwick Golf Club, telephone +44 (0)1620 892135.
